Why did you chose Best Buddies for employment?
I saw an organization that was growing and had great leadership. As I spoke to people within Best Buddies, I realized the tremendous passion and commitment that they all had for the mission. My final interview was at the Leadership Conference in July 2009, and seeing the energy and enthusiasm at that conference was truly inspiring. I left there knowing I wanted to be a part of Best Buddies.
What does friendship mean to you?
Friends pick us up when we are down. They are the people we laugh with, and the people we share and make memories with. Most of all, true friends see and accept us for the people we are. Take a moment and reflect upon what our lives would be without friends.
What are your goals for your state this year?
We want to be the best at everything we do. On the program side, we want to continue to provide the best experience for all our participants. Maryland has a reputation for outstanding programs and we intend to improve upon that reputation.
On the development side, we want to cultivate a high-impact board and event committees, develop signature fundraising events, and greatly increase our revenue base. This will allow us to increase the number of people that can benefit from our programs in the future.
