I See You Soiree: Safari In December
Rockville, Maryland

The exclusive "I See You" Soiree took place to assist Best Buddies Maryland with its programs around the state, at the Metropolitan Center for the Visual Arts (VisArts).

This enchanted theme combined a spirit of generosity and friendship, the celebration of the African culture and the mission of Best Buddies. There were libations, dinner, entertainment and auctions, along with some very special guests.

Best Buddies Day with the Baltimore Blast
Baltimore, Maryland

The Baltimore Blast Major Indoor Soccer Team hosted a Best Buddies Night, at the 1st Mariner Arena. 150 Best Buddies participants and supporters joined Best Buddies staff at a pre-game dinner reception sponsored by Panda Express. Then the Blast invited the participants on field to watch the player introductions. Sarah Moss and Eli Lewis, from the Walter Johnson chapter, kicked-off the game then joined the rest of the attendees in the Best Buddies cheering section!

Thanks to everyone who attended! We can't wait to have this event again next year!

Officer Training Day
Maryland

Officer Trainings were held for all high school officers. Trainings were in various locations all over the state. Officers learned important information about Best Buddies, leadership, intellectual disabilities and their specific roles.Thank you to the more than 100 high school officers who participated in this successful event!

Birdies By The Beach Golf Challenge
Ocean City, Maryland

Featuring the Miss USA Caddies!

The "Birdies by the Beach" Charity Golf Challenge, benefiting Best Buddies Maryland, was held at the Ocean City Golf and Yacht Club in South Point. Golfers benefited from the expertise of several Miss USA delegates acting as caddies. The action on the course was followed by an after party catered by Phillips Seafood and featured live music by the Fuzzy Bunny Slippers.

A VIP party was thrown on June 24th at Fish Tales for Miss USA Caddies and golfers to celebrate the event. The group relocated to Seacrets to raise awareness in the Ocean City community about Best Buddies.

Baltimore Appreciation Brunch

Best Buddies Maryland celebrated the contributions our Baltimore and Anne Arundel high school participants made during our Second Annual Baltimore Appreciation Brunch.

Montgomery County Gala
Damascus, Maryland

Sixteen Montgomery County high school Best Buddies chapters gathered to celebrate friendship on Friday, May 4th. Approximately 350 students enjoyed hors d'oeuvres and desserts, a recognition presentation, and an evening of dancing.

The 2007 Best of Maryland Awards
Columbia, Maryland

Hosted by Atholton High School

The 2007 BMA's celebrated the success of Best Buddies and the life changing friendships that have formed throughout Maryland.

Close to 500 Best Buddies middle school, high school, College, and Citizens program participants walked the red carpet and enjoyed a unique awards show hosted by comedian, Michael Aronin.

The "Oscar style" show included awards presentations and exciting song and dance performances by our participants with and without disabilities. The event culminated with an "after party" complete with food, dancing, and a conga line. Many raffle prizes were given out, including Southwest Airline tickets, an iPod shuffle, and a Motorola Razr with Cingular Wireless prepaid service!

National Youth Service Day
Baltimore, Maryland

National Youth Service Day, coordinated by Youth Service America, is the largest service event in the world. Best Buddies Maryland is proud to have participated in this campaign highlighting the contributions of young people including those with disabilities.

The four Harford County High School chapters completed a project for Eden Mill Nature Center, an inclusive park.

1st Howard County Gala
Fulton, Maryland

The first Howard County Gala was held on Friday, March 30th at Reservoir High School. Students from eight high schools with Best Buddies chapters in Howard County gathered for an evening of dessert, dancing, and recognition to celebrate fun and friendship.

Workout With Wylie
Baltimore, Maryland

Hosted by  The Clarence "Du" Burns Arena

Mark Wylie, Best Buddies International employee and finalist from NBC's hit show The Biggest Loser, held a morning of fitness and fun! This event was for the whole family and free to all participants!

Wylie was joined by Maryland's representative from The Biggest Loser Amy Hildreth and Missouri's representative Marty Wolff.

3rd Annual Harford County Talent Show

Four regional Best Buddies high school chapters gathered together to put on an inclusive talent show including singing, dancing, magic tricks and more. Hosted by the C. Milton Wright High School.

12th Annual Friendship Games
College Park, Maryland

The Friendship Games are an annual carnival-style event held in celebration of Best Buddies Month! The Friendship Games were open to all middle school, high school, college, and Citizens program participants. It was hosted by the University of Maryland.
