Best Buddies Maryland
The Friendship Walk was a tremendous success and set a fundraising record, raising more than $55,000 to support programs at Best Buddies Maryland -- a 60 percent increase over our initial goal.
More than 300 walkers gathered on May 1 at Ritchie Coliseum at the University of Maryland, College Park for a day of fun and games. Prior to the walk, participants enjoyed music by MIX 107.3 and refreshments. Miss Teen Maryland was on hand to greet the walkers and even took a stroll with them through the one mile walk.
Congratulations to our top teams – Tyler’s Padres, UBS Financial and Citizen’s United for Best Buddies; and the top fundraisers – Terri Klatzkin, Rachel Greenberg and Ellen Meyerson. Top fundraisers took home a first, second and third place medal and a complimentary Friendship Stone necklace.
Best Buddies Maryland would like to thank all of our corporate sponsors including The Clark Charitable Foundation, Pillsbury, USEC, Arent Fox, Valuation Services, Aronson & Company, Baltimore Life, Baker Tilly, Venable, The Meltzer Group and Willis.
Also appreciation for the in-kind services and products provided by The Bagel Shop, ASG Sports for the Pepsi products, MIX 107.3, Drink More Water and The Black Finn Restaurant for hosting the kickoff party.
Following the Walk, it was on with the Friendship Games where participants were treated to a terrific lunch compliments of Panda Express. Attendees also enjoyed carnival style games, music and entertainment. |
